Who is this for?
Sales development reps, account executives, and sales ops teams who need to qualify high volumes of leads consistently — especially when onboarding new reps who haven't yet developed their own qualification instincts.
The problem it solves
Most sales qualification happens through free-form conversations that vary by rep and by mood. Junior reps skip important questions. Senior reps improvise and miss data. The result is a CRM full of poorly-scored leads and deals that stall because nobody confirmed budget or authority early enough. A structured qualification flow fixes this.
How the template is structured
Every step is editable. Customise the content, labels, and branching logic to match your exact process.
Budget — does the prospect have the means?
The first branch qualifies budget range. Prospects who indicate no budget or a range far below your price point are immediately routed to a nurture sequence rather than consuming more sales time.
Authority — who is the decision maker?
Determines whether the prospect can make the buying decision or needs to involve others. If they're not the decision maker, the flow captures who is and adjusts the next step to include a multi-stakeholder approach.
Need — does the problem match the solution?
A set of targeted questions to confirm the prospect's pain points align with what your product solves. Poor-fit prospects are routed to a "not right fit" outcome with a polite explanation and alternative resource.
Timeline — when are they looking to act?
Establishes urgency. Active buyers (0–3 months) go to an immediate demo booking. Longer timelines route to a low-touch nurture sequence with a scheduled follow-up date.
Routing — demo, nurture, or disqualify
Based on the four BANT answers, the flow calculates the correct outcome: book a demo, add to a nurture sequence, or politely disqualify. Each outcome node captures the full qualification summary for CRM logging.

- Can I adapt this template to MEDDIC or another qualification framework?
- Yes. The template uses BANT as a starting point, but every question node is editable. You can replace, reorder, or add nodes to match MEDDIC, SPICED, CHAMP, or any internal qualification framework your team uses.
- Can prospects fill this out themselves before a call?
- Yes. Publish the flow as a public link and embed it on your website or include it in a pre-call email. Prospects self-qualify and you receive their answers before the first conversation. Only qualified prospects get a demo booking.
- Can I connect the qualification output to my CRM?
- Yes. PathPilot webhooks fire on flow completion and can send the full qualification data (budget, authority, need, timeline, outcome) to Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or any CRM. Route the webhook payload through automation tools like Zapier or Make using their custom webhook triggers.
- How do I handle prospects who switch answers mid-flow?
- Viewers can navigate backwards using the breadcrumb trail in the flow viewer. All branch selections are captured at the final completion state, so only their final answers are logged.
